NECO Released its 2016 examination results

The National Examination Council (NECO) has released the 2016 results for the June/July Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) affirming that over 88 per cent of the students getting up to five credits and above in critical subjects,n including English and Math­ematics.
‎According to the examination body, this year's results showed an 88.51% per cent improved performance  as against last year's which was 87.51%.
NECO Registrar, Profes­sor Charles B. U. Uwakwe wile announcing the results at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State on Friday, pointed out that "the outcome of the senior school certificate examina­tion was a huge success".
He attributed the over­whelming performance to the adherence of teachers to standard teaching pro­cedure and imparting the right knowledge on the stu­dents.
He also noted that the sacrifices of the NECO staff , made it possible for the ex­amination to be released 60 days after the writing of the last paper which also coin­cided with one month of his assumption of office as the Chief Executive of the body.
 
A breakdown of the result showed that of the 1,027,016 candidates that registered for the examina­tion, 1,022474 took the pa­pers they registered while the percentage of candi­dates who secured five credits and above, includ­ing English and Mathemat­ics per state this year stood at 96. 31 per cent.
